Serving the people of Alabama by assuring conditions in which they can be healthy.

Providing continuing education to enhance skills while promoting high standards, professionalism, and cooperation among government, industry, and academia in environmentally related areas.

The Association consists of five chapters geographically located to be convenient for members to attend one-day meetings.  The chapters are: Northern, East Central, West Central, Southeast, and Southwest.

See our Contact Us page for information on chapter contacts.

ASSOCIATION ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:

1 - Chapter meetings

The Association offers educational meetings by each of the five chapters, normally three times per year. The chapter meetings serve a key function for the members by providing an interactive forum to hear presentations from technical experts in the specialized areas of environmental health. Topics addressed at the meetings include all areas of environmental health, such as food safety, onsite sewage and wastewater disposal, rabies control, solid waste, hazardous waste, public and private water supplies, vector control, legal aspects concerning enforcement of laws and regulations, and many personal topics to improve professionalism.  These meetings last for one day and may include field trips, discussions, and presentations.

See our Calendar of Events page for information on meetings.
See our Contact Us page for information on chapter contacts.

2 - The www.aeha-online.com web page and The Alabama Environmentalist newsletter

Members receive association information and updates through the AEHA web site, www.aeha-online.com. The Associations’s newsletter, “The Alabama Environmentalist,” is published on the website. See our Newsletter page for a copy.

3 - Annual educational conference

An annual educational conference is held with interesting speakers from inside and outside of the state to present a centralized program with statewide participation. The association holds its annual business meeting in conjunction with the annual educational conference. At this meeting, business is addressed and awards are presented to recognize members who have made outstanding contributions to the field of environmental health. See our Calendar of Events page for information on the next Annual Educational Conference.
